A Liveable Housing Australia (LHA) Design Guideline Assessment, completed by a registered assessor, evaluates residential building designs to ensure they meet the standards set by the Liveable Housing Design Guidelines.
These guidelines focus on making homes more accessible, adaptable, and suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
The LHA assessor reviews key features such as door widths, hallways, bathroom accessibility, and floor plans to ensure they comply with LHA’s criteria, which aim to support independent living, aging in place, and accessibility for people with mobility challenges or disabilities.
The assessor provides feedback and suggestions for improvements to help create homes that are inclusive and adaptable to changing needs.
Sarah Smith is a registered LHA design guideline assessor and is able to complete both provisional (design) and final as-built certification assessments for Silver, Gold and Platinum levels.
